Hospitalization in Mexico can be very expensive as well. Hospitals in large cities (Ciudad de M\u00e9xico, Monterrey, Guadalajara) often charge higher rates than one would expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, to treat appendicitis you will have to count between \u20ac4,000 and \u20ac6,000 or $82,000 to $123,000. A night in a private room at the hospital will cost about \u20ac150 to \u20ac200 per night, or between $3,070 and $5,120.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking Out International Medical Insurance in Mexico<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Having international medical insurance in Mexico is highly recommended. It allows you to choose your doctor freely, and to benefit from the best health care networks. It will also cover you in other territories, including your home country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the flexibility, international insurances do not have any remaining expenses. There won’t be any surprises, since you will be covered at 100%! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the case of maternity, you will not pay more. For example, Mexican insurance generally covers maternity for up to $40,000, while an uncomplicated pregnancy costs a minimum of $100,000!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
